Who We Are

Tiny Paws RVA is a 501(c)3 non profit animal rescue in the Richmond, Virginia area. We are foster based, meaning instead of public location we have a dedicated team of people fostering animals in their homes.

We focus the majority of our efforts on neonatal kittens that require bottle feeding, sick kittens that require extra care and support, and under socialized kittens. We do accept other animals on a case by case basis. This includes, but is not limited to, puppies and small dogs and small mammals.

Our primary mission is to recue animals in need, vet and rehabilitate them, then adopt them into loving forever homes, all while educating the public on animal welfare.

In addition to rescuing animals, we strive to educate the general public on animal welfare issues in our community, including TNR, the rescue community at large, and the impact we can have on the overpopulation issues.

Lastly, we hope to be able to grow Tiny Paws RVA to be able to help members of the community with their pets through advice, counseling, and aid in various forms in order to help community members keep their well loved pets if they are able instead of rehoming them or surrendering them to a shelter.

Tiny Paws RVA is a 501(c)3 non profit organization.
Our Federal EIN is 61-2126278.

What We Do

Animals come to us from a variety of ways. We take in kittens found by the general public, from people working in TNR who have found kittens, from shelters in need of transfer partners, and through various other channels.

When we bring animals into our rescue, we do a full intake assessment, then place them in a foster home. They are fully vetted before going up for adoption. This means every kitten is treated for fleas and parasites, receives at least 2 rounds of vaccines, is tested for FIV/FELV, is seen by our vet, and is spayed or neutered before being placed up for adoption.

We are entirely volunteer run, and rely off donations from the public to allow us to do what we do.

Founder & Director

Lauren Vaughan

Lauren has loved animals for as long as she can remember. She started by volunteering at a rural shelter in high school, and never really stopped. As soon as she got her first apartment, she started fostering. She developed a love for bottle babies and the underdogs, and knew this was what she was meant to do. In January 2021, she started Tiny Paws RVA.

When she's not bottle feeding kittens you can find her walking the many parks with her dog/best friend, Maisie, baking new treats, or planning her next trip. She is also mom to 3 foster kitten fails: Minnie, Lisse, and Theo.
